Anca holds an LL.M. in Transnational Business Practice from the University of Salzburg and the University of the Pacific and a Pg.Dip. in Competition Law from King’s College London. Having practiced throughout the development of modern competition law in Romania, Anca was directly involved in all the major competition law projects that have shaped the alignment of Romanian competition law to European standards. She has thus contributed with her wealth of expertise to the development of both local law and practice and also to academic efforts meant at improving the Romanian regulatory framework. Anca has dealt with all types of projects, from merger clearance (either with the Romanian Competition Council or with the European Commission) to exclusivity arrangements, vertical and horizontal agreements, abuse of dominance, and state aids. She has also assisted large companies with improving their compliance with competition law requirements by organizing trainings, dawn-raid simulations and by consulting on intra-organizational alignment. As a token of trust, the Romanian Competition Council has appointed Anca’s team as the first monitoring trustee acting for the authority in the first and largest commitments procedure undertaken in Romania.
